The safety and well being of our students, staff and volunteers is of the upmost importance to Free Society Academics. We will open consistent with applicable state and local orders, providing a safe space for students to enjoy their learning experience away from the uncertainties of current events.
Free Society Academics will use a combination of methods to achieve the overall health and safety of our students, these protections include:
· Measures to ensure all students, staff and volunteers are healthy
· Upkeep of clean air and sanitized surfaces
· Training all employees on health and safety protocols
· Educating our students about health and wellness
Health measures for our community
We will be requiring students, staff and volunteers to have their temperature checked prior to coming to campus. If anyone detects a fever of a temperature higher than 100.4 the member is required to stay home. Please review our sick policy on our Forms page.
Clean air and surfaces
We will be utilizing medical grade H13 HEPA air purifiers. These filters take in fresh air and mix it with indoor air, the indoor air is then filtered through a H13 HEPA filter that is very effective at capturing more than 99% of airborne microbes. We will also continue to sanitize surface areas and promote healthy hygiene practices.
Trained staff
Our trained staff will be up-to-date on health and safety guidelines and practices. FSA policy will evolve as our staff and students’ needs change to assure a comprehensive approach to maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning experience.
Knowledge is power
To combat the spread of prevalent diseases and other communicable issues and the negative impacts of such we will continue to include regular discussions of how germs spread, how our immune system works, how to strengthen it, the importance of nutrient rich foods, clean water, proper hygiene, and quality sleep as well as other meaningful protocols and practices to sustain optimal health.
We believe that empowering students on how to care for themselves through education and action is a quality tool that will serve them well throughout their lives. FSA believes that a combination of these methods will contribute to an overall healthy and safe experience for all members of Free Society Academics. However, we cannot disinfect all areas of our facility in a manner to eradicate the potential spread of COVID-19.
